Governor General of Barbados Madame Justice Dame Sandra Prunella Mason QC pledged to closely monitor what was going on in Barbados as this is her responsibility to do so.
“I would want, as I pledged in my inauguration speech in January, to server this country, its men, its women and most definitely its children which the impartiality that I have given to my first occupation as a Judge.
I will not continue to judge anybody but I shall certainly be contemplating whatever Barbados will be doing over the years because, as you know, it is part of my remit to be au fait with everything that is going on in Barbados.”

Former Governor General, Sir Elliot Belgrave, his wife and Chief Justice Sir Marston Gibson, were also in attendance and took their places among those who lined Parliament yard for the arrival of the Prime Minister and the Governor General designate.
