Governor General of Barbados Madame Justice Dame Sandra Prunella Mason QC pledged to closely monitor what was going on in Barbados as this is her responsibility to do so.
“I would want, as I pledged in my inauguration speech in January, to server this country, its men, its women and most definitely its children which the impartiality that I have given to my first occupation as a Judge.
I will not continue to judge anybody but I shall certainly be contemplating whatever Barbados will be doing over the years because, as you know, it is part of my remit to be au fait with everything that is going on in Barbados.”
The ceremony also saw a number of knights including national hero Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Henry Fraser and Sir Trevor Carmichael. |
This country’s eighth Governor-General was sworn into office on Monday, January 8, during an installation ceremony at the Senate Chamber of Parliament.
